Announcing Bear Season by Gemma Fairclough

Wild Hunt Books is delighted to announce that we’ve acquired Bear Season by Gemma Fairclough. A book investigating the mysterious disappearance of a British PhD student in the Alaskan wilderness.

In Bear Season, Jade Hunter, a PhD student from Manchester goes missing in Alaska in 2016 and all suspicion turns to reclusive survivalist Ursula Smith. No body has been found but Ursula is convicted of murder, nonetheless. Two years later, Jade’s doctoral thesis is leaked online and investigative journalist Carla Young digs into Jade’s disappearance but more importantly, what brought the young student to Alaska in the first place. A dark fairy tale told in found texts and shifting points of view and reliability.

Bear Season is scheduled for 2023. Subscribe to our newsletter or follow us on Twitter for pre-order information and further updates.
