PUBLISHING WITH US.

Are you an unagented author interested in publishing with us? Here’s a general idea of the acquisitions process…

RIGHTS

  • Upon acceptance, authors will receive a contract and a small, modest advance. We request exclusive rights to produce, distribute, promote, publish and sell the work in the English language worldwide in volume, ebook and audio formats.

  • As per the contract, authors also receive royalties on sales.

OUR PROCESS

  • Before receiving the contract, you will have a Google Meet chat with Ariell, the editor at Wild Hunt Books. We’ll chat about your book, your vision for the book, the editor’s thoughts and the Wild Hunt Books publishing culture and expectations.

  • You will be provided with a contract and editorial schedule to review and sign. This schedule will include information about the author's and editor's expectations.

  • The developmental edits begin! This is a dynamic process and we expect our authors to be open and receptive to editorial feedback. Once we’re both happy with the final draft, the book is copy-edited and then sent for typesetting. Then a final proofread will take place.

  • We will also brief our cover designer to make a bold and striking cover during this time.

  • Once all files are finalised, they will be sent to the printer.

  • Because we are a small press, we need your help to market your book! We will create a bespoke campaign that involves our social media channels, newsletter, book bloggers and reviewers, but author promotion is vital. This may include Q&As, social media interactions and interviews.

CROWDFUNDING

  • Our initial funding for certain list comes from crowdfunding. We hope that changes with the help of future sales and grants.

  • Not all books will be produced this way. The open submission portal will inform you if your book will be initially funded via crowdfunding.

  • Because of this, publication depends on the success of our crowdfunding campaigns.

  • Authors who sign with Wild Hunt Books will be expected to promote the campaign via social media, newsletter or word-of-mouth.
